Beschreibung

"Launched in 1962, the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III was regarded by many as the finest in the company's history and indeed was proudly advertised as ‘the best car in the world’. It was powered by the 6250cc, all aluminium-alloy V8 engine and supplied with a four speed GM derived automatic gearbox as standard equipment. The most obvious cosmetic change was the introduction of four headlight lighting and combining the side lights with the indicators to the front of the wings. Inside the car was improved with separate front seats, an increase in the room for rear passengers and a better ventilation system. The Silver Cloud III, with such a majestic presence would become the first choice for celebrities and aristocrats in the early 1960s.
This very original Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III is in good condition throughout. Supplied new by H.R. Owen to Bowmakers Ltd. of St. James Street, London who took delivery in November 1964. This was fitted with electric windows and Marshall parking lights and, in 1967, it was purchased by Mr. R.S. Aldington, a publican based in Brentford, Middlesex, he passed away in 1990 and the car passed to his daughter Mrs. Aldington-Smyth. The current owner bought this Silver Cloud from her in 1991 with only 60,000 miles recorded, during his ownership he has added a further 6,500 miles to the total, including only 1,000 miles since 2006. In this time, the car has been maintained by marque specialists, Hofmanns of Henley. Finished with the original paintwork of Sage Green over Smoke Green with beige leather interior, this Silver Cloud III is supplied with a V5C registration document, a file containing copies of the chassis records from the RREC, invoices and previous MoT test certificates dating back to 1991. The car has its original complete toolkit and handbook. With only 2,044 standard steel saloons built between 1962 and 1966, it is rare to find such an original example in such good condition. An investment for the future."
