Beschreibung
This imposing Silver Cloud, LSLG68 was ordered by a French Baron in January 59 in left hand drive with power steering and air conditioning. The car was completed on the 7th of March 1959 and delivered by air on the 11th of April of the same year to the French agent Franco Britannic Autos in Levallois. It was then registered with a diplomatic licence and equipped with flag holders on its mudguards. The Baron, at the time French ambassador to Indonesia, had his Rolls Royce, deemed the only fitting transport for a man of his position, shipped to Jakarta. Later, the Silver Cloud accompanied him to Peru, Paris and finally Malaga. All servicing and maintenance throughout all those years has been meticulously recorded in the owner's manual including a major revision at the Rolls Royce works in Crewe where the original engine SG96 was replaced by another unit carrying the number SCG94. In 1982 the car was taken over by the head of a major Swiss company and, after a complete restoration, added to his collection. The coachwork was repainted from the original “Masons black” to the current “black Pearl”. In 1999 the Rolls Royce was taken over by a third owner who unfortunately died shortly after. In October 2000 the car was finally taken over by the vendor and added to his growing collection. The past 23 years the Silver Cloud saw regular use whilst being regularly and carefully maintained. In April 2023, in preparation for the MOT, all-wheel brake cylinder and the brake servo were overhauled, the rims repainted and shod with new whitewall tyres. Today the Silver Cloud, with four previous owners, 158’400 kilometres driven and a well-documented history is in good to very good condition and will be sold due to advancing age of the current owner. The car has its FIVA ID card and the last Veteran MOT was completed in August 2023.
