Leaving the factory in the UK in 1959 (finished in Black Pearl), this Silver Cloud I was quickly shipped to New York for its first owner. It was later sold to Ralph Walton Jr., based in Indiana, before heading to California to Dr. Robert Pazen in November 1977. Purchased by Jeremy Janss of Silverado in January 1981, he kept the car for 20 years before selling it to Fernando Eiroa, a well-known collector based in Newport Coast, California, in the 2000s.
The current owner acquired the car about ten years ago and drives it regularly.
Equipped with a bespoke “vanity,” it was not fitted with picnic tables but instead with a narrower partition (35.5 cm by 5 cm) topped with a Fleetwood manually wound clock signed Jaeger.
At Mrs. Bradley’s request, the car’s interior was tailored with a specific seat depth (48 cm), a particular distance between the front seat and partition (66 cm), and a set clearance between the floor and the base of the partition (35.5 cm). Grab handles were added in the rear for easier entry/exit, curtains for privacy, widened armrests with ashtrays and cigarette lighters for the rear passengers.
Also notable are covers for the chauffeur’s seat and “K.L.B.” monograms on the rear doors.
The previous owner had the Silver Cloud restored and took the opportunity to update its color scheme to burgundy & silver, with brown leather upholstery front and rear, while retaining the unique specifications listed on the factory build sheet.
The restored car was exhibited at an RROC gathering in 2010, where it received 2nd prize for the most improved car. The current owner – a private French collector – has had the car serviced for the sale, and a technical inspection will be carried out for the occasion.
A complete file is available upon request, and the car will be sold with a 12-month CarJager mechanical breakdown warranty.
