Launched in 1971, the Corniche came in both coupe and convertible forms and was built by Mulliner Park Ward. By 1987, the Series II arrived with redesigned instrumentation, wheels, and seats, with an aluminum radiator and oil cooler added to improve reliability. Additionally, alloy and rubber bumpers replaced chrome, and anti-lock brakes became standard.

Documentation obtained from the RROC shows this Corniche was completed in May 1987 in Georgian Silver with a black interior and sent to Stevens Imports in Wichita, Kansas, on December 24, 1987. By April 1988 the Corniche was owned by Richard Freeland, a wealthy Pizza Hut and KFC franchise owner from Fort Wayne, Indiana. According to a CARFAX Vehicle History Report, the Rolls-Royce would have owners in Florida and Colorado before being purchased by the California-based consignor in 2015, showing just 21,858 miles.

With the odometer displaying just 24,300 miles at the time of cataloguing, it appears this Corniche has never been fully restored and remains highly original. Recent service records show that the car was submitted to Classic Motor Inc., of Van Nuys, California, on a regular basis for expert maintenance. A driver first and foremost, the current owner favored his Corniche Convertible for family events, especially summer jaunts to Paso Robles.
