An especially striking and sporting example of the later Silver Ghost, chassis 69CW was shipped to France and supplied to Argentinean buyer Miguel de Riglos. Noted on its build sheet as having originally been a cabriolet bodied by Rheims & Auscher, the principals of the more famous coachbuilders Rothschild & Fils, it is recorded as having been subsequently rebodied twice. The current coachwork being a tourer with unusually low-slung lines, it brings to mind the London-Edinburgh models of the 1910s. It bears the label of Rothschild & Fils, indicating the chassis was rebodied prior to the coachbuilder’s dissolution in 1930.

The car was taken to Argentina and in the 1960s was sold by prominent politician, Nazar Anchorena, to James McCloud of California who, in documents on file, attributes its body as-acquired to Rothschild. Mr. McCloud brought it home with him, completed a restoration, and retained it until 1996, when it joined the present collection. Subsequently freshened cosmetically, the Rolls-Royce presents in fine overall condition with its paint and interior still in very good overall condition, and the chassis and engine compartment clean and tidy. It retains its original engine, and the original chassis number is visible on the frame itself as well as on the original bonnet hinge. Accompanying is a collection of historical documentation.

Driven by the late owner on the 2013 Centenary Alpine Trial, this Ghost is eligible for any number of events worldwide, and will undoubtedly be one of the most special and beautiful examples participating.

Please note this car will be taken to Nieuw-Vennep in the Netherlands immediately following the sale, and onward transport will need to be arranged from there.

Veuillez noter que cette voiture sera transportée à Nieuw-Vennep, aux Pays-Bas, immédiatement après la vente, et que le transport ultérieur devra être organisé depuis cette adresse.
