Beschreibung

French title Engine n° 53084 - Very well maintained - Elegant styling, mechanically sophisticated First registered in England in 1934, this car belonged to a Mr Arthur Lowe, who as a member of the RAF would have served in South Africa during the Second World War. The Riley records show that the car left the factory with the aluminium bodywork it retains today. Its chassis is a " special " model and the original engine has twin carburettors (period option) and manual gearbox. According to British registration documents, the car had seven owners before arriving in France at the end of 2006, and the current owner bought it in 2008 from an enthusiast in the South of France. The file of bills that comes with the car shows that it was meticulously maintained while in England. Since 2008, various work has been carried out : general servicing, refurbished con rods (according to what the owner has told us), repair to the dynamo, and the clutch has been serviced with the clutch release bearings replaced. A water thermometer and detachable fan have been fitted, and the car has run some 10,000 km since. With elegant styling and discreet patina, sophisticated engineering and original body with sliding sunroof, this Riley Kestrel is a particularly appealing car, rare and usable.
