Richard Gaylard Shattock revived the Atalanta name after the Second World War with the RGS Atalanta, offering complete cars with fibreglass bodywork or parts kits until 1958. Lea-Francis, Ford and Jaguar engines were used.
In 1944 Dick Shattock owned a 1926 Brooke marine engine and approached Atalanta to purchase a chassis and "a load of bits". Shattock completed the build on his car in December 1944, registering it as ‘MMX 343’ and campaigned it in Brooke configuration as the ‘Atalanta’ until 1951, when he revised it. Around this time, Shattock took on the name ‘Atalanta’ calling his subsequent creations ‘RGS-Atalantas’.
By this time, Shattock had built four other cars, using a tubular chassis of his own design to take the Atalanta suspension. His original car ‘MMX 343’, since sold, was returned to h
