FOR SALE; 44k Miles // Mechanical Restoration // Volcano Grey // LHD

LHD, 5 Speed Manual, Phillips Cassette Player/Radio, Adjustable Amplifier, Electric Windows, Digital Clock, Turbo Boost Gauge

The aggressive, low slung form of the GTA is designed to cut through the air with maximum efficiency. Its angular nose channels air along the vehicles sleek lines and over the narrowly angled windscreen feeding two intakes for the rear mounted V6.

The glistening Volcano Grey paintwork presents very well for its age ,with minimal stone chips throughout it really captures the bold lines of the GTA . The polyester high-pressure injection composition of the body also mean that there is no worry of rot or rust in the body panels of the car.

This performance classic also adorns the V6 Turbo window graphics as well as the Alpine shutter style graphic at the rear, a true 80’s throwback.

The low sports interior of the Alpine has a definite retro-future edge to it. With a plethora of driver focused gauges and dials these span off from the fully electric centre console providing some very defined lines within.

The seats are a triumph of 80’s futurist design, finished in light grey leather and showing reasonable wear for their age, they provide great support with a completely unique aesthetic.

The light grey colour coding follows into the centre console surround and carpets which contrast nicely against the black trim features of the interior showing a clear amalgamation of style and function throughout.

Launching the GTA from 0-60 in just 7.6 second the turbocharged V6 engine is full of character, producing a joyous series of rasps and turbo whistles as it revs.

The V6 PRV is also a very well proven engine, having powered cars from Peugeot, Renault, and Volvo as well as less mainstream machines such as Deloreans and Venturis. This means mechanical issues are few and far between with the GTA, which is exceptionally rare for a performance car of that era.

In addition to this the engines proven reliability with the vehicles recent mechanical overhaul, with extensive image documentation and invoices totalling over £2,000, this particular GTA drives exceptionally well.

The 15″ Alpine alloy wheels are in very good condition, with no sign of curbing on the rims, they sit on Michelin tyres with plenty of miles left in them.

The outer fins of the rims are a functional design harking back to turbofan wheels of the 1970’s, which first appeared on the legendary Porsche 935, these were engineered to channel warm air out and away from the braking components to keep the brakes cooler and more effective over a long-term period.

Original service history show this GTA was sold new in Holland to Mr Jhamans on 9 March 1987 by distributor ACM Maarsen and a service log states that the car was serviced with 9,102 km on the clock in 1991.

ASI documents show the car was then purchased in 2015 by an Italian collector with 63,000 km on the odometer. Between 2016 and 2019 the vehicle then underwent a mechanical restoration; including full disassembly of the rear sub-frame, axles and power-train in order to get them serviced. During the process, all signs of corrosion were eliminated, the transmission and braking system serviced and the gaskets have been replaced.

With only 71,282 km on the clock, this GTA is supplied with its an extensive file of pictures details the various works carried out and a good log of invoices that track the extensive recent work on the car. Currently on Italian papers the car can be further registered in the UK if necessary.

With the Alpine brand recently making very successful reappearance there has been a resurgence in the appreciation of these cars. Low production numbers and many being lost over the years make this very clean example a true collectors item.
