A real engineer's car adopting many avant-garde solutions, the 928 would go on to have several versions, of which the GT was one of the most interesting: sports version replacing the Clubsport, with its power increased to 330hp, mated to a manual gearbox, which retained the shortened ratios of the preceding model, and featured magnesium rims, Bilstein Sport shocks and an electronically controlled variable differential. Produced between 1989 and 1991, sales remain very limited.
The example on offer is exceptional. Sold new in France, as confirmed by the Porsche information sheet, it retains an elegant "Stone Grey Metallic" livery combined with a black leather interior. This GT has an optional power sunroof, Blaupunkt radio and cruise control. Well known from the beginning, with its history documented since 2002 by a large folder of invoices which justifies the evolution of the mileage up to 104,241 km, which is what it showed during our test drive. Its current owner acquired the car in 2018, and as a demanding enthusiast, entrusted it to Porsche Vélizy in 2021 for a major mechanical overhaul. The total invoice exceeded €45,000. Ready to hit the road, this 928 GT has a clear history, with French provenance, low mileage and interesting options, and is certainly one of the most desirable examples on the market today.
