Unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show in 1977, the Porsche 928 was a luxurious GT car intended to replace the company’s 911. Styled by Wolfgang Möbius, the V-8 front-engine, egg-shape design marked a break for Porsche and offered a driving experience unmatched in the era. Technically advanced compared to virtually every other production car of the period, the 928 was crowned 1978 European Car of the Year, the only sports car to be awarded that honor.

This 1982 Porsche 928 was delivered new to Brumos Porsche in Jacksonville, Florida, and purchased by its first owner, William Hall, on December 17, 1981. Registering less than 62,000 miles since new, this car was donated by Mr. Hall to The Brumos Collection in 2001. Rated at 220 hp from the factory, this example’s 4.5-liter V-8 was coupled to an optional three-speed automatic transmission. According to the consignor, the white paint, 16" Phone Dial wheels, and trim are in good overall order. The tan leather interior exhibits minor signs of use, but, notably, is not afflicted with leather dashboard shrinkage, a common consideration on this model. Air-conditioning adds to the comfort of the driving experience.

This 928’s rear end without a spoiler is an unmistakable hallmark of an early model – and is considered the purest of the design. Accompanied by books, tools, jack, and spare, as well as documentation dating to the 1980s, this well-preserved 928 deserves serious consideration.
