"Originally starting life as a very respectable 924 Turbo, this example was registered new on 18th March 1981. Having been in storage for some 12 years, this 924 was acquired by a previous owner in 2000 with 81,000 miles on the odometer, with the intention of creating a Carrera GT tribute. He commissioned the work to be undertaken by KSM Engineering who completed the transformation by utilising parts from a vandalised Carrara GT. The car was then treated to an engine rebuild, retrimmed interior, and a respray in Guards Red, finished with a set of Fuchs alloys. The result was a superb looking tribute that was in excellent condition. Later sold in 2005 the new keeper fitted a stainless-steel exhaust and a Mittal electronic distributor. Other notable upgrades to the 924 include a new cambelt, four new tyres, a refurbished fuel tank, new pipes and hoses, new fuel pump, refurbished brake calipers with new pads, new heater and radiator hoses, a new wiring loom, period style DAB radio with hands free connectivity, instruments refurbished, and more recently in 2023 the turbo was refurbished and upgraded to Carrera GT specification by AET Turbos.
Our vendor acquired this superb looking example in 2020 in good running and driving condition, however in 2023 the camshaft oil feed fractured, and the result was a bent valve. Having had the engine inspected using a borescope it revealed that one bent valve was the extent of the damage. As such the Porsche is being sold as a non-runner with the above work needing completion before road use. The decision was taken to sell the Porsche as is rather than complete the above work due to the vendors health complications and being in need of a more practical weekend car. Offered with a large history file including service records, invoices, old MoT test certificates and the V5C registration document as well as a number of spares. Once completed, this example will no doubt offer astonishing performance and handling while being a very comfortable long distance tourer.
