The Pacific Coast Highway, it is a warm summer’s evening on the 7th July 1983. Mr Tomaselli has just driven his new Porsche 911 SC Convertible off the local Porsche dealership’s forecourt and is enjoying his immaculately furbished open 911. The “Indisch Rot” finish is complimented with a black hood and black leather upholstery on the inside. Forged Fuchs rims complete the picture. Tomaselli only used the car on special occasions which has led to the mileometer only showing 20,608 miles to date. He sold the car in August of 2016 and we in turn sold it to its only Dutch owner. Since 1983 this car has only has two owners. It therefore follows this must be a matching numbers and colour car. It comes fully documented with its service history, including the nearly € 11,000 spent in maintenance whilst in Holland.

No surprise the bodywork is pristine. With every inch of its panelwork original it looks great. The alignment is perfect and matters such as the brightwork and glass are all in top condition. In the 80’s Porsche had an outstanding reputation for top quality hoods and this car’s hood is no exception. The hood is easy to operate and fits like a glove. It also comes with a tonneau cover. The car’s paintwork is original and has kept its excellent looks. The forged Fuchs rims are a factory fitted feature and are simply pristine.

The interior leather cladding is similarly in the best of conditions. We would also draw your attention to the recently added Porsche PCM system. Whilst you are on your way in a classic 911 you also benefit from up to date technology without it spoiling the look. Use the Sat Nav, phone hands free, stream your playlist or listen to the radio. The leather seating is delightfully supple and the carpets are in peak condition. Of course all the perfectly functioning controls and instruments are manufactured to Porsche’s irreproachable standards. This

911 also benefits from air-conditioning, a combiner mile and kilometre counter, cruise control, front windscreen sun strip and white fog lights.

Mechanically the car has been perfectly maintained. The full maintenance history is known and the 3.0 litre boxer engine runs perfectly. The engine transfers its power though a manual 5-speed gearbox and develops 180 Ps. Suspension and tyres are all flawless. The clutch action is responsive as are the brakes which give a good amount of feedback. The maintenance was solely in the capable hands of the Porsche Centrum Gelderland.

The car’s documentation is excellent, which is just like you would hope it would be with such a fine example. The original title is there as is its bill of sale, a copy of the American title, the aforementioned maintenance, the owner’s and PCM manuals, invoices and written instruction about the fitted Porsche Classic tracking system as well as all the maintenance invoices. To top it all it comes the original brochure as well as the old Californian blue plates.

Whilst hitting Highway one may take some doing, taking this car out on your local favourite route should be quite an acceptable alternative and equally as enjoyable. This is without a shred of doubt a perfectly maintained 1983 Porsche 911 SC Convertible that should peak the interest of any collector or enthusiast of top performing 911’s.
