With a power increased to 190 hp in its 2.4S version, the Porsche 911 became an incredible machine in motorsport which enabled the brand to substantially expand its track record in rallying.
This particular example is a desirable Targa version delivered new on 15 March 1972 in Hamburg, Germany. It is therefore a rare version fitted with the oil trap on the right rear wing which ended up disappearing the following year. As stated in its Porsche certificate, this car was equipped with many optional equipment which may have been intended for racing: 80% limited slip differential, headrest, 3-point belt, 90-litre tank, rear windscreen wiper, Bilstein shock absorbers and tinted windows. This document indicates that the car was initially in a metallic grey colour with black upholstery, with the seats' centre part in finely perforated leather, the same configuration as it is today. In 2006, the car was stripped down and repainted and the running gear was refurbished and repainted. In 2008, the engine was fully restored by PS Automobile as of new casings on which the original number was carried over, for an amount over €18,000. The original equipment is complemented with a Becker Europa car radio and a tripmaster. Ready to hit the road in its most sought-after version and fitted with specific equipment, this 2.4S is a great choice for your next rallies.
