Chassis #911 230 1637
1972 PORSCHE 911 2.4S COUPE
Matching numbers / Side Oil Filler
Price: £POA

We are delighted to offer this superb, matching-numbers, 1972-model year E-series (side oil-filler) Porsche 911 2.4S Coupe.

By 1972 all Porsche six-cylinder engines had a capacity of 2,341cc, with variations in performance. The 911T retained its Solex-Zenith carburettors (in the European markets) with a power output of 130 bhp at 5.600 rpm. The new 911E and 911S were fitted with mechanical fuel injection and at 6,200 rpm, the 911E produced 165 bhp and the 911S produced 190 bhp. The increased performance and torque of the 2.4 911S could really be felt from 5,000 rpm (500 rpm sooner than the 2.2S) and the car now had a top speed of 230km/h (147mph).

Chassis # 911 230 1637 – Manufactured by Porsche in Stuttgart, in June 1972 and delivered new on 27th September via the Italian importer - finished in Silver Metallic and Black Leatherette with Houndstooth seat inserts. Optional extras at delivery were: Tinted Side Glass and Tinted windshield.

Chassis #1637 has just six documented owners from new, four of whom have been located in north-western Italy – Arquata Scrivia, Allesandria, Cogoleto and Firenze and more recently two keepers in the UK since being imported in 2013. The car retains its original 1972 service booklet; 911S driver’s manual and wallet, together with original basket-weave tool-roll and jack. Complete with registration Automotoclub Storico Italiano (No. 22356) and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity; this car is offered UK-registered with V5 C and MoT test certificate. The car has been maintained by us since 2014 and really is the epitome of early 911 driving pleasure.
