Model history :

The first generation Porsche 911 was launched in 1964. It was developed in response to the market demand for a more powerful, larger, and more comfortable replacement for the Porsche 356.
Basic design principles remained unchanged: the car was powered by an air cooled engine mounted at the rear end. However, the car was larger, more spacious and more comfortable.
The 911 was first unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1963. First examples (nowadays as scarce as hen’s teeth) were called 901. The name was later changed to 911 due to protests raised by Peugeot, which usually gave their cars three-digit names with a zero in the middle. First car with a 911 name rolled off the factory in September 1964.
The car was powered by a six-cylinder, horizontally opposed engine displacing 1991 cubic centimeters and developing 130 BHP. Inside there were four seats, but the ones mounted in the back were very tiny, so the car is considered to be a 2+2 coupe. Later on, a Targa variety was launched.
Power of the 911’s engines was gradually increased over time to 160 BHP in the 911 S model, which was fitted with legendary forged Fuchs alloy wheels. Towards the end of 1969, the engine was bored out to 2.2 litres. Wheelbase was also made 60 mm longer, to make it more stable in fast corners. Basic model with a 2.2-litre engine was called T and had 125 BHP. The more powerful E model had a 155 BHP engine. Top of the range S version developed 180 BHP and was also available in a stripped down version weighing just 830 kilograms. Such low weight was achieved thanks to fitting the car with lighter seats for example.
In 1970 several changes were made to the car, including a new steering wheel, better trim on the inside and bigger brake discs.
First generation Porsche 911 is a cult car, appreciated for its simple character and focus on the visceral thrill of driving.

Car history :

The 1970 Porsche 911 2.2E featured at the Rozalin 2016 is a truly unique vehicle. Only 1300 911s in 2.2E version were ever produced, this is the car number 803. From the moment of its delivery it only changed owners twice. Its second owner bought the car in 1980 and has had several modifications done to it. It was his weekend car, used purely for fun. First modification were the bumpers, akin to those of the RS model, which look spot on with the classic body shape. However, they can be easily swapped for stock ones. The car was painted white in the factory, but it was repainted black about 12 years ago. The paintwork is in good shape and apart from respraying, it has never been restored. Its bodywork is preserved in its original form and has never been repaired. The same goes for the chassis and other bits, such as the boot or engine compartment. Engine rebuild and resealing of all mechanical components were carried out less than 5 years ago in Belgium. The engine runs perfectly after rebuild, during which fuel tank was also refurbished. Same goes for the upholstery, which is of good quality. Original chrome parts need refreshing. This particular car is unique due to its state of repair and short list of previous owners. Converting it back to stock will not be expensive, should its new owner elect to do so. The car is extremely likely to go up in value.
