The dealer's plaque and the Sonauto badge on the engine cover confirm that this Porsche was sold new in France. Its chassis number shows it to be one of the very first off the production line in 1969 and its engine dates from its production year.
In 2000 the car belonged to a collector in the Gironde, who undertook its restoration. The engine was rebuilt in 2004 and 2005, and we have the supporting invoices from Porsche. The list of parts is a long one, comprising con rod bearings, cylinder head gaskets, leg gasket, valve stem sells, a rebuild kit for the hydraulic chain tensioner etc.
A French Rugby team player bought the car in December 2009. In 2012 the braking system was overhauled, and aviation type hoses were fitted front and rear. The well known specialists Caribex restored the black interior and the headlining, taking care to preserve their patina. In late 2013 Joffroy Automobile rebuilt the gearbox and overhauled the fuel injection pump, replacing the heating element to make sure that the car would start in all weathers. One year later, two Porsche enthusiasts fully aware of the historic importance of this car took it on themselves to start a total restoration of the bodywork. It was totally dismantled, stripped back to bare metal and sand blasted, the front wings were repaired and remetalled. A file of photographs and invoices for the parts used accompanies the car. The car was then repainted a splendid metallic blue ( number 8410, code 324).
The period 2003 to 2015 saw more than 30,000 euros were spent. With its yellow headlights and its fog lights so redolent of this period of the 911 story, this well cared for and historic car cannot fail to appeal to all lovers of the marque.
