Beschreibung

"The original 911 series is often cited as the most successful competition car ever, especially when its variations are included; namely the powerful 911 derived 935 which won Le Mans as well as other major sports cars races. The original Porsche 911 with its famous and distinctive design was mechanically notable for being rear-engine and air-cooled. Production would run from Autumn 1963 until 1989. The C series 911 was introduced in August 1969 with an enlarged 2.2-litre engine. The wheelbase for all 911 and 912 models was increased from 87.0 to 89.3 inches, to help as a remedy to the car's nervous handling at the limit. The overall length of the car did not change, but the rear wheels were relocated further back. Fuel injection also arrived for the 911S and for a new middle model 911E with the 901/09 engine.
This delightful and stunningly original manual five speed Tangerine Orange 911E was first ordered by a Mr Ronald Bayman in Michigan in 1969 c/o Car Tours in Europe who managed the purchase and for whom a brochure for their services can be found in the history file along with all correspondence between them, Mr Bayman and Porsche Stuttgart. Additional options specified from new included electric antenna and fog lights at a cost of $8059.71 which still remain on the car today. We are informed that Mr Bayman was a pilot for the military and the car, which he collected personally from the factory in Germany, was flown around the world with him, often ending up in airplane hangars when not being driven, which explains the fabulous and original condition of the car today. Upon inspection the car oozes originality, the only thing we could find missing was a single sticker in the rear window.
Complementing this stunning Porsche is one of the best history files we have had the pleasure to review. The car was in Mr Bayman’s personal ownership from new until at least 2010 with continual history right through that period. The original order, delivery notes, owner’s handbook and service books are all present together with a logbook from we believe the second owner, a Mr Karytinos in Adelaide, Australia in 2014/2015. In 2016 the car was purchased by our vendor and kept in a private collection of other such special cars in a perfect dry environment.
The car itself boasts original stickers, tool roll, radio in situ and trim; inevitably the driver’s seat shows signs of wear but is original and the owners have chosen to leave it as such. The rest of the car has been professionally detailed and regularly run, and benefits from a recent fluids change ready for the new owner. As close to original as you can get, this is a true find of a car that would be almost impossible to replicate with any budget. Viewings for this exceptional offering are highly recommended as it is a struggle to convey the magnificence of the car by words alone.

The health and safety of both our customers and team remains the utmost priority, we are therefore operating to Government guidelines throughout viewing and auction day."
