Two years after the introduction of the 911 coupé a convertible stablemate - the Targa - arrived in 1966. Expected US safety legislation prompted Porsche to adopt an ingenious approach to the open-top 911; the Targa sporting a hefty roll-over bar to protect the occupants in the event of an inversion, plus removable roof and rear hood sections stowable in the boot. For 1969 a quieter and less leak-prone fixed rear window replaced the rear hood.

Built late in 1968, the Porsche 911 offered here is a 1969-model B-programme car, the first to be built on the longer wheelbase. This car was comprehensively restored to original specification in 2015, the body being restored by Porsche and the Targa roof by a US specialist, while the matching engine was completely overhauled. Repainted in its original Polo Red livery, the car is described by the vendor as in excellent condition throughout, its engine running smoothly. Accompanying documentation consists of a comprehensive file containing a current technical inspection, Spanish (historic) registration papers, and a quantity of photographs and invoices relating to the body and engine restoration. The original owner's manual, jack, and tool kit are included in the sale.

Deux ans après la présentation du coupé 911, un cabriolet - la Targa – fit son apparition en 1966. La future législation américaine en matière de sécurité amena Porsche à adopter une ingénieuse approche pour sa 911 cabriolet, la Targa adoptant un solide arceau pour protéger les occupants en cas de retournement, avec un toit et une lunette arrière amovibles que l'on rangeait dans le coffre. En 1969, une lunette arrière fixe, moins bruyante et plus étanche remplaça, la lunette souple détachable.

Construite à la fin de 1968, la Porsche 911 proposée ici est un modèle B de 1969, la première à adopter l'empattement long. Cette voiture a été entièrement restaurée aux spécifications originales en 2015, la carrosserie étant confiée à Porsche et le toit Targa à un spécialiste américain, tandis que le moteur à numéro concordant était complètement révisé. Repeinte dans sa livrée originale Polo Red, la voiture est décrite par le vendeur comme étant en excellent état général avec un moteur tournant régulièrement. La documentation fournie comprend un dossier complet, un contrôle technique en vigueur, ses papiers d'immatriculation espagnole (historique) et une quantité de photographies et de factures concernant la restauration de la carrosserie et du moteur. Le manuel du propriétaire, le cric et la trousse à outils d'origine sont inclus dans la vente.
