“Restoration of the very highest standard”
The Porsche 911 T marks a major milestone in the model’s history with the introduction, for the 1969 model year, of the new long-wheelbase (LWB) chassis. Extended by 57 mm, the sports car gained remarkable stability at high speeds and more predictable handling. This major technical development corrected the lively character of the early models to deliver perfect dynamic balance.
The official Porsche certificate of authenticity confirms that the car is strictly matching numbers for its 2-litre engine and gearbox. This valuable document also attests to its particularly attractive original factory specification: its iconic ‘Bahama Yellow’ paintwork is complemented by highly sought-after period options, including the 5-speed gearbox, Koni shock absorbers, tinted windows and chrome wheels.
The current owner has taken their attention to detail to the next level by fitting the car with a roof rack adorned with period skis. This accessory perfectly recreates the silhouette of the 911 driven by Robert Redford in the 1969 cult film, ‘Downhill Racer ’ (La Descente d’enfer). A touch of unique and highly evocative charm that is sure to appeal to enthusiasts of pop culture and motoring history.
Built on a sound chassis, this Porsche 911 has undergone an exceptional restoration carried out by skilled craftsmen, documented by a comprehensive file of reports and photographs.
During our recent test drive, the engine and transmission proved to be in superb condition, delivering crisp revs and smooth gear changes. This collector’s item is now in impeccable cosmetic and mechanical condition, ready to hit the road.
