The Porsche we present has had only two owners since 1977 and is sold under its original French registration number. It was registered on 28 December 1967 and the last owner acquired it in January 1978. It's a short wheel base model with triple Weber carburetors. Its current owner has used it as his main vehicle for several years, before storing it in a garage and undertaking a comprehensive restoration starting 2012, and completing in 2015.
The mechanical restoration was carried out entirely by a Porsche specialist in the South of France, Denis Fruleux, from the Garage Baous. The engine is not the original one (but the right type according to a Porsche certificate on record) and it received a complete renovation too: new pistons, cylinder re-boring, new connecting rod bearings, engine seals and new distribution, new oil tank and hoses... Ignition and coils, clutch and flywheel are also new, as well as the brakes and the suspension. Complete repair of the front and rear axle and the steering system. The tank, the tires and the battery are new too. The amount of invoices for the mechanical restoration amounts to 19,000. The car also received a body restoration: the front underfloor and panels, the door seals, the windows and the headlamps have been changed. Anti-corrosion treatment below the chassis was done and the car was repainted. 5500 of bills vouch for the restoration of the bodywork. The interior upholstery has been retained but the foam relined, which gives the car an unmistakable patina. This rare short wheelbase has its identification certificate from Porsche France. Our collector wanted to go for historical rallies with the car, but he did not have the heart to use it extensively, as the car was in such a good condition. It is rare to find a car so well maintained and tastefully restored by a serious, enthusiast owner.
