For many years, 2shores has been offering selected first grade examples of collectible automobiles. This outstanding early 911S Coupe is one of those rare offerings!

The 1967 911S was the very first S (Super) model in the still young 911 series. The earliest editions of the 911 had an air-cooled, rear-mounted, 2.0 L 130 hp flat-6 "boxer" engine, similar to the 356's four-cylinder 1.6 L unit. It was mated to a five-speed manual "Type 901" transmission. The styling was largely by Ferdinand "Butzi" Porsche, son of Ferdinand "Ferry" Porsche. Erwin Komenda, the leader of the Porsche car body construction department, was also involved in the design.
In 1967, Porsche introduced the more powerful 160 hp 911S (Super). This model started the long legacy of the potent 911S model, a tradition still held up today by Porsche, promising top performance and options! The 1967 short wheel base 911S is often called the most desirable 911S of all times, the Grand Daddy of all 911S models!

Our car on offer was first delivered to Auto-Sebastian VW – Porsche Dealership in Mannheim, Germany in August of 1966. It is a Euro delivery car identified by amber turn signals and tail lights, German style loop carpet and ambient temperature gauge located left of steering wheel on dashboard etc.

The original owner was Baron Lanzo Von Wambolt in Germany. The Baron was an avid Porsche enthusiast and race car driver. He participated in a number of Hill Climb and Road Races driving a variety of Porsches including 356B & A Carreras and was quite well known in the Porsche circles of the day.

This beautiful 911S Coupe eventually made its way to the United States, but we have no trace of the exact timeline. Documentation starts again with the current owner who purchased the vehicle in 2002 while residing in Walnut Creek CA. The car was regularly serviced at Valhalla Automotive Inc. Lafayette, CA Deutsche Motor Sport Concord, CA and Kahler’s Werkstatt Dublin, CA. The owner is a true brand enthusiast and obsessive about how he cares for his Porsches and this Coupe was no exception. Upon moving to Tennessee, the car is now serviced locally in Nashville at Renntag Metrowerks, Inc. Service records are available.

This 911 is in excellent mechanical condition. The car has always been garaged and would only be driven if it was a fair-weather day.
The non matching engine was completely rebuilt in 2015 by Deutsche Motor Sport in Concord, CA. It features an aluminum 2 liter case with 2.2 911S heads, pistons and cylinders. The car runs and drives fantastic and has only about 6k miles on the rebuild.
The car starts easily on the first try and the power is strong with no hesitation throughout the rev range. The handling is crisp and tight. The transmission shifts perfectly with no grinding. The clutch engages properly as well with no slipping. The brakes have an excellent initial bite with no fading or pulling.

The repaint to original color code 6206 (Silver Metallic) was executed in 2006 using Glasurit paint. The paint looks still fantastic with only minimal signs of use considering its age and miles. The clear OEM windshield was replaced back in 2015.

The interior is a mix of original and aftermarket and simply beautiful. The door panels have minimal signs of use. The dash is crack and warp free. All the gauges work, including the clock. Headliner is in excellent condition not stained and or torn.
This 911 comes with Certificate of Authenticity and owner’s manual along with dozens of receipts for service and maintenance since 2002. Spare and jack included as well. No toolkit.

A wonderful opportunity to acquire one of very few, early short wheel base 911S models out there. This is the perfect example for the spirited driver, who is looking for an exciting fast early short wheelbase 911 to enjoy and experience, rather than a show car in the garage!

Der 911S von 1967 war das erste S-Modell (Super) der noch jungen 911-Baureihe. Die frühesten Editionen des 911 hatten einen luftgekühlten 2,0-Liter-Boxermotor mit 130 PS, ähnlich dem 1,6-Liter-Vierzylinder des 356. Es wurde mit einem Fünfgang-Schaltgetriebe "Typ 901" gepaart. Unser angebotenes Auto wurde erstmals im August 1966 an Auto Sebastian VW, einen Porsche-Händler in Mannheim, ausgeliefert.

Der Besitzer ist ein echter Markenliebhaber und legt großen Wert darauf, wie er seine Porsche pflegt. Nach seinem Umzug in den Staat Tennessee wird das Auto nun vor Ort in Nashville bei Renntag Metrowerks, Inc. gewartet. Wartungsunterlagen sind verfügbar.

Dieser 911 ist in ausgezeichneten mechanischem und optischem Zustand. Das Auto wurde nur an Schönwettertagen gefahren.

Der Motor (nicht nummernkorrekt) wurde 2015 von der Deutschen Motor Sport in Concord, Kalifornien, komplett neu aufgebaut. Es handelt sich um ein 2-Liter-Aluminiumgehäuse mit 2,2 911S-Köpfen, Kolben und Zylindern. Das Auto läuft und fährt fantastisch und hat nach der Revision nur etwa 10.000km zurückgelegt.
Das Getriebe schaltet perfekt und ohne Geräusche und das gesamte Handling des Autos ist einwandfrei.

Die Neulackierung auf den ursprünglichen Farbcode 6206 (Silber Metallic) erfolgte 2006 mit Glasurit-Lack. Der Lack sieht immer noch fantastisch aus und weist nur minimale Gebrauchsspuren auf. Die klare OEM-Windschutzscheibe wurde in 2015 ersetzt.
Der Innenraum ist eine Mischung aus Originalzustand und Neuteilen und einfach wunderschön. Die Türverkleidungen weisen minimale Gebrauchsspuren auf. Das Armaturenbrett ist frei von Rissen und Verformungen. Alle Anzeigen funktionieren einwandfrei, auch die Uhr. Der Dachhimmel ist in ausgezeichnetem Zustand, keine Flecken oder Risse.

Dieser 911 wird mit Porsche Geburtsurkunde und Bedienungsanleitung sowie Dutzenden Belegen für Service und Wartung seit 2002 geliefert.
