First unveiled at the 1963 Frankfurt Auto Show, the Porsche 911 was the successor to the 356. Penned by Ferdinand “Butzi” Porsche, the styling introduced the now timeless and aerodynamic profile that is iconic today, along with 2+2 seating, five circular dials on the dashboard, and a rear-mounted 2.0-liter flat-six engine delivering 130 hp and a top speed of 130 mph.

According to a copy of its original Kardex, this amazing 1966 Porsche 911 was finished in desirable Irish Green over a tan leatherette interior and equipped with a Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio with antenna and loudspeaker. Its first owner was Hugh S. Havens of Homer, New York, and it was later owned by attorney Craig Benson of Nashville, Tennessee, who sold it to Tommy Trabue circa 1996.

Registering 43,815 miles on its odometer at the time of cataloguing, this 911 retains its original engine, interior, and according to the consignor, the vast majority of its factory-applied paint. It presents extremely well throughout, showing signs of astute care and stewardship. Infrequently and carefully used, this stunningly preserved 911 has nonetheless been well taken care of throughout the years as evidenced by a file of maintenance receipts that accompany the sale. Supplied with its books, tools, jack, and spare tire, this early and exceptionally original Porsche 911 would make a worthy addition to any collection.
