Beschreibung

Among the great British car makers that have disappeared, Alvis is one of the most emblematic, with many innovations and innovative features for its time. The TA21, born after the war in the 1950s, closely resembled its predecessor, the TA14, but benefited from a number of technical innovations, above all a new in-line six-cylinder engine, which was fitted to all models until the firm ceased production in 1967. Only 1,316 examples were produced, all body styles combined, but it remains the most sought-after model among enthusiasts.
Launched on 11 September 1951, probably in Scotland, our example, bodied by Tickford in the DHC (DropHead Coupé) version, is in a perfect state of preservation thanks to a total restoration, orchestrated by its current owner in England, whose file bears witness to the meticulousness of the work. The bodywork, engine, running gear and interiors have all been restored to present a vehicle of this caliber. With a total of 81,345 unverifiable miles and very light use after its restoration, the vehicle is available in our showroom, ready to drive. French registration, right-hand drive. Non-accident vehicle with collector's registration. Please contact us for further information.

ENGINE AND GEARBOX
The 6-cylinder, 2993 cc solex carburettor develops 83 horsepower and sends it to the rear wheels through a very smooth 4-speed gearbox. The vehicle has also been mechanically rebuilt, so there's no need for any maintenance in the near future. In terms of chassis, an independent front suspension with coil springs, which is a new feature for the brand, gives the car excellent comfort.Several hundred pages of restoration photos are available on request, along with an extensive purchase and exchange history with Alvis specialist Red Triangle. An engine and gearbox overhaul was carried out in 2021, invoice on request.

EXTERIOR
302 examples of the convertible version of the TA21 were produced by Tickford. Although it bore a strong resemblance to its predecessor, the TA14, the headlights were recessed into the bodywork and aprons elegantly covered the rear wheels. The non-original two-tone paintwork suits the car perfectly and highlights its curves, while its condition is perfect and there are no faults to be found. The underpinnings, which were completely restored, are also flawless. Details of the exterior restoration on request.

INTERIOR
The interior Is in perfect condition thanks to a complete overhaul. The noble materials used, such as leather, precious wood inserts and aluminum components, are as good as new. The Smiths instrumentation is fully functional, as are the push-button controls on the center console. The very comfortable seats are made from high-quality green leather, while the carpets, which will be finished as part of the sale, are in very good condition.

CONSUMABLES
The consumables are up to date, with Vredestein Classic tyres in very good condition. The brakes are also in perfect condition, having been refurbished during the restoration.
