  • One of just 682 examples built

  • Presented with selected service history carried out by a Swiss-based genuine Porsche centre
  • Odometer shows fewer than 20,000 kilometres at the time of cataloguing

Manufactured from 2003 to 2005, the GT3 RS was introduced towards the end of the lifespan of the 996-generation 911. Building on the performance credentials of the existing 996 GT3, the GT3 RS was more powerful and intended for use on the race track. The RS moniker pays homage to the German-language RennSport, or “racing sport” in English, while the car’s colour-matched side decals and wheels give a nod to notable Porsche models from the past, such as the Carrera 2.7 RS of the early 1970s.

The GT3 RS was lighter than the GT3, as it was equipped with a polycarbonate rear window and carbon fibre bonnet and rear wing. While the official power output of the RS was rated at 381 horsepower, Porsche’s own control dynamometer allegedly showed a leap in power to nearly 400 horsepower. The German marque claimed that 0-60 mph was possible in 4.3 seconds, with a top speed of around 190 mph. The RS is fitted with front and rear adjustable control arms in addition to progressive—rather than linear—springs while, the dampers are 10 to 15 percent stiffer than the units fitted to the GT3.

This GT3 RS was delivered new on 10 March 2004 to Porsche Centre Stuttgart. Finished in Carrera White, the Porsche features contrasting red colour-matched decals and alloy wheels over a black fabric interior. This car left the factory with a centre console painted in a matching colour, leather-edged floor mats with Porsche script, a CD storage compartment, top-tinted windscreen, automatic air conditioning, safety cage painted white, Litronic (Xenon) headlights, and a Becker Porsche CD-radio. Two Porsche-branded Recaro bucket seats are fitted, each with a three-point harnesses.

This car retains its factory radio and is fitted with a UNIPRO laptimer. According to the Porsche service book, the workshop stamps show that the car was serviced in 2007 and 2012, alongside major services in 2015 and in 2017, with brake fluid and spark plug changes carried out in between. The odometer shows 19,535 kilometres at the time of cataloguing. Presented with this GT3 RS is a set of sport exhaust manifolds and downpipes, along with a spare set of alloy wheels, tyres, and a carbon fibre front diffuser.
