Beschreibung

At the Frankfurt Motor Show in November 2007, Porsche unveiled its latest evolution of the famous 911 GT2, now based on the updated 997 platform. A direct descendent of the acclaimed Porsche GT1 race car, the 997 GT2 was the most powerful and fastest road 911 on the market at the time.

Featuring a new titanium exhaust system, twin variable-geometry turbochargers, and expanded intake manifold, it was a lighter, tighter, and mightier GT2 than its predecessor. According to the Porsche factory, the GT2’s 3.6-liter, flat-six engine could produce 530 hp at 6,500 rpm and 505 lbs./ft. of torque. Add to that a top speed of 204 mph with a dizzying 0–60 mph in 3.6 seconds, and Porsche enthusiasts were itching to test-drive the new lightweight twin-turbo 911. A few exterior design upgrades were initiated with minor changes to the lights and front lip, but most noticeably the 997 GT2 received an updated rear wing, which preserved the classic profile but offered a refreshing new design.

It is believed that approximately 200 examples were produced for the US market, and this 997 GT2 must be among the finest to be found, as it remains in pristine condition, with less than 400 miles. It is also unique – the only 2008 GT2 dressed with a specific and extensive series of options, specially ordered by a world-class collector and Porsche VIP renowned for owning exclusive and distinctive automobiles.

According to the window sticker, which accompanies the sale, this GT2 was delivered in black paint with a plethora of options costing more than $20,000. The interior carbon fiber package includes the switch panel, steering wheel, door entry guards, safety belt pillars, and rear center console. Driver support systems such as park assist, self-dimming mirrors with rain sensors, a sports chrono package, and electronic logbook were all added at the factory, and a Bose Surround Sound System was also installed. The Porsche Communication Management module encompasses navigation and telephone access. The standard pedals were switched out for aluminum, while custom yellow stitching was applied at every conceivable juncture, including the dashboard. The Porsche crest was emblazoned on the headrests and highlighted by the special-order seat belts in matching Speed Yellow. Floor mats received custom coordinated trim, and the wheels were finished in black. Factory books, two sets of keys, and tool kit are included.

Truly one of a kind and in exceptional condition, showing less than 400 miles from new, this stunning 997 GT2 is the ideal modern collectible for the spirited and able Porsche devotee.
