Beschreibung

A great cabriolet from the final year of 930 production and thus featuring all of the many improvements introduced over many years including, of course, the G50 gearbox. Finished in the great colour combination of Baltic Blue with Linen leather this must be one of the finest of its type having covered just 18,000 miles in the hands of two owners from new.

The car was supplied when new by Motortune, then the official Porsche dealer for London’s West End, based in Fulham Road, South Kensington. It was bought by the first owner’s husband as a birthday present. Following lunch at a well-known local restaurant the lucky lady was whisked to the Porsche showroom a few doors away and to her astonishment was presented with the keys to the Porsche, this all happened on the 29th March 1989.

Mrs Bloomfield and her husband used the car occasionally in summer months for the first few years of its life, the longest trip being a sojourn to the Cote D’Azur in 1989. Mrs Bloomfield retained the car until 2007 but it saw very little use in the latter years of her ownership and spent its life under a cover in the heated garage beneath their London townhouse.

In 2007 Mrs Bloomfield contacted me via a mutual friend offering the Porsche for sale as a one owner totally original vehicle that had covered only 13,800 miles from new. Following a meeting with Mrs Bloomfield and inspection of the car I bought it immediately realising it was something quite special. Following its long period in captivity we sent the car straight to Porsche Centre Swindon (invoices on file) for a full evaluation and service before offering it for sale.

Needless to say the Carrera found a new home very quickly becoming a big part of a significant private English collection of the best cars. In its second ownership the Porsche has been perfectly maintained by Porsche Centre Guildford as indicated in the original stamped service book and detailed in invoicing on file. A further 4,000 or so miles have been added and it has been carefully stored at all times in a heated dehumidified motor house.

The Porsche, now showing 18,000 miles, remains in excellent order in all respects and drives perfectly with a tightness found only in original low mileage examples. It comes with all books in the correct wallet, original tonneau cover, all keys and tools.

A prime reference example of a great and most usable Porsche model from the golden years.
