Here is a unique opportunity to secure one of the rarest Rennsport Porsches ever built.

Just as the legendary RS 2.7 was built as a homologation special so the factory could build and race the Carrera RSR 2.8, the RS 3.0 was built as a follow on model so that the RSR 3.0 could take over as the main weapon in Porsches racing arsenal before the turbocharged 935 swept all before them.

While the RS 2.7 was built in comparatively larger numbers of 1,580, the RS 3.0 had a tiny production run of only 109 cars. With a new die cast aluminium alloy crankcase and many other factory tweaks to the drivetrain and bodywork, the bulletproof 3.0 produced 230HP in standard guise and 100HP more in race trim.

The car on offer is the only Australian delivered example. Factory RHD and never raced, it has had sympathetic ownership its whole life, and has only just been released from its place in a long term collection. It remains today in outstanding original condition, and would be the centrepiece of any significant Porsche collection.
