Conceived by the masters at Porsche Exclusive, the department responsible for creating the most bespoke specification cars to wear the Porsche crest created the Sport Classic. A car that would become the rarest and one of the most sought after Porsche 997 models.

Built on the 997.2 platform, the Sport Classic was fitted with a modified 3.8litre flat-six engine from the Carrera S partnered exclusively with the six-speed manual gearbox. All Sport Classics were fitted with the ‘Power Kit’ available as an option on the standard 911 Carrera. This power kit affords the Sport Classic 408bhp, introducing ported and polished combustion chambers, special resonance intake manifolds, a remapped ECU, new exhaust system and a Carbon-Fibre airbox working together to bring the power 23bhp up over a standard Carrera S.

All examples were delivered in the same Sport Classic Grey hue with medium-grey central stripes. The options were the same for all cars but the list was healthy. Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes (PCCB) and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) were both fitted to the car. With particular attention paid to past, the Sport Classic received a wealth of retro styling additions and physical changes to make the car stand out.

Borrowing the wider rear quarter panels from the Carrera 4, the Sport Classic features 19’ Fuchs-Style alloy wheels, a unique double-bubble roof, unique ducktail, a revised front valance and a new rear bumper to accommodate the round-tipped exhaust pipes. Inside the car features Espresso natural leather, woven leather and thick fabric with Porsche adaptive sports seats for a vintage but very much luxury feel.

A Sport Classic worthy of any collection, this example has covered just 30 miles from new. Supplied to its first owned in June 2010 by Porsche Centre Reading, the car has been serviced within the recommended guidelines by Porsche Hatfield and Porsche Swindon exclusively.
