1998 Porsche 993 Turbo WLS 2
 
Porsche is known for the extraordinary air-cooled, rear engine setups. This truly one-of-a-kind Glacier White 993 is where the air-cooled story ends. Being an exceptionally rare example, this 1998 993 Turbo has been upgraded with a WLS 2 performance ex works from Porsche.
 
Listed as a Turbo S (with Porsche documents to confirm), this 993 has had a myriad of tailored upgrades to improve performance and looks over the years and is a fine example.
 
History of the 993 for the 1998 Model Year

Porsche made around 550 993 Turbos during the 1998 model year. Turning out to be the end of an era, it’s also estimated that only 20-25% were equipped with the WLS 2 ex works upgrades. This vehicle is as rare (or rarer) than a Turbo S. Making it the same technical level on paper as a Turbo S too, being equipped with the same engine.
 
However, this evolved into a package called "WLS II" (German acronym for "Works Performance Increase 2") which included larger K24 turbos, twin plug ignition and additional oil cooling. The effect was to increase engine output from 408 to 450hp - the same as the most powerful versions of the 993 (the Turbo S and infamous GT2 Evo). Resulting in this exceptional 993 Turbo with WLS 2 hitting 200 kilometers per hour in just 12.8 seconds.
About This Vehicle
 
Very special 993 Turbo from the last series in 1998. This vehicle, specially built according to customer requirements, was registered on 04.08.1998 on behalf of a supplier to the automotive industry for his company.
 
Before the production of air-cooled Porsches was discontinued in the summer of 1998, 266 turbo vehicles with ZWS chassis numbers were made at the end of the model series. With its 14 special X options, this car is probably one of the most special of this series.
Added Features
 
This example had a few added upgrades over the years including a dealer fitted GT rear spoiler, upgraded RUF full exhaust (from its original owner) and those iconic 18” Porsche Classic II Wheels all-round.
 
Plus, all interior seats and panels received full re-conditioning. All wheels have been refurbished and it has undergone a recent oil change. Making it one of the best examples currently on sale.
