GENERAL

Being the last top-of-the-range model of the naturally-aspirated air-cooled 911, the 993 Carrera 2S represents the pinnacle of the classic 911 evolution.

This manual 993 Carrera 2S coupe was built in 1997 and is quite exceptional because of its unusual and attractive colour scheme.

Delivered new in Germany, the original owner insisted on ordering this car in Speed yellow over a green leather interior. True story: upon return from his stay abroad in Brazil, he was so amazed with his experiences in the country that he ordered a 911 in the national colours of Brazil. The Porsche salesman tried to change his customer’s mind for over two hours, suggesting to order a black/black example, to no avail.

The first owner thoroughly enjoyed and pampered the car for several years, after which he traded it in for a new Ferrari. Soon thereafter it was acquired by its first Belgian owner, who kept the car for several years before selling it on to the current owner several years ago. All owners have taken great care of the car, which translates through every aspect.
EXTERIOR

The paintwork is pressing very nicely, and we think that most of the paint is still original. There are almost no marks of stone chips, sun discolouration or parking marks.

The 18-inch wheels are in excellent condition, require no attention and are shodded with Continental sport contact 2 tires.

Most of these cars suffer from faded headlamps, turn signals and rear lights. This isn’t the case with this example, as all these items are very clean and present nicely.

The green tinted glass is in excellent condition and wears the original fairy markings.
INTERIOR

The special order green leather interior is a gorgeous match with the speed yellow exterior. It shows little to no traces of use.

The matching green soft hair carpet is still very fresh and looks excellent.

A Ruf sport steering wheel and gear shifter are fitted, giving the interior a slightly more sporty feeling. The original items come with the car as well.

The usual wear on door grabs, armrests, dashboard and centre console are non-existent on this car. All these items look barely used, which is a testament the previous owners’ care and attention.

The odometer is displaying 78.564 kms which, considering the car’s condition and service history, seem to be correct. Originally, this car was ordered with speed yellow dial faces, but these were replaced by regular black scripts by the previous owner since this suited his taste more. This is also the reason there is no Carrera S script on the dial faces.

ENGINE

The 3.6 litre air-cooled six-cylinder is probably the most reliable of the air-cooled 911 engines with the Varioram variable valve timing. The engine starts right away and runs perfectly. The clutch and gearbox work as they should and the overall experience one gets from driving this car is that of an exceptionally tight and well maintained 993.

The engine bay is very clean, and we could not detect any traces of oil or grease anywhere on the engine.
BODY

The car’s undercarriage looks original, with no anomalies are found. The inspected areas appear to still have the factory applied undercoating. No repairs or damaged areas have been found.
PAPER TRAIL

The car comes with service invoices, a service booklet and the original manuals.
