Beschreibung
Porsche’s original 911 Turbo, introduced in 1974, broke new ground, ushering in a new era of turbocharged performance for the company, and changing the automotive landscape as a whole. Its successor, the 964 Turbo, was introduced in 1990 and brought about extensive improvements. Porsche stated that over 85% of the 964 was composed of new parts, including the use of coil-spring suspension over the 911’s traditional torsion bars. The 964 3.3 Turbo used a single KKK Turbocharger and an intercooler to develop 320 BHP, resulting in a top speed of nearly 170 mph.
This gorgeous 1991 example was purchased new by John Hartsfield of Snohomish, Washington, and the original Bill of Sale remains on file. Hartsfield retained the car until 2005, when it was purchased by Randy Stenson of Lake Mills, Wisconsin.
The consignor acquired the Porsche in 2013 and has since been maintained by Chicago area marque specialists Olsen Motorsports Inc. and Napleton Westmont Porsche. “Driving this Turbo gives you the experience of what it was like to drive a new example off of the showroom floor,” the consignor states. “Having only 24,000 original miles and being 27 years old, it represents a Porsche collector’s dream! This 964 Turbo has been meticulously maintained, comes with extensive documentation and tools, and is an amazing time capsule of a car. Exceptionally original, this is a blue-chip opportunity that rarely presents itself.”
