The bodywork as well as the suspension were upgraded to make the car perform better. The 718 was powered by a middle engine type 5'7/3 with 142 hp from the 55A.

The body was made on the basis of a VW Beetle chassis. This is a fibreglass bodywork with very nice finishes and especially the right proportions.

The car has just been resprayed in 'Pure blue', a colour developed exclusively for the Porsche 997 Speedster (356 units built).

The interior was reupholstered in beige leather.
