1962 Porsche 356B T6 D'Ieteren Twin Grill Roadster

History: Porsche factory records show original delivery on January 30, 1962, to Porsche Cars Southwest San Antonio, TX. It is believed to have had a total of six owners in Texas, Arizona, and California. Being restored in California about 10 years ago. Winning an award at the Hilton Head Island Concours, South Carolina in 2014 under the ownership of Bobby Rahal. Only 248 of the Belgian coach built “D’Ieteren” T6 twin grill roadsters were built. They were the last evolution of the Speedster, Roadster line. The rarest of all the 356 open cars with the technical features of the last series “T6” cars.

Condition: This is a very original, no accident, rust free car which has had a sympathetic restoration in order to retain its high degree of originality. Completed in 2009-2011 by Southern California 356 experts. In the original colors of ivory exterior with brown leather interior and a black convertible top.

Body has original sheet metal with VIN# stampings in both doors, front hood and engine lid. It also has original headlamp buckets, original door bottoms, floors and battery box. Other very nice original parts are: front hood handle and Porsche crest, all window glass. Wiring harness, fuse panel and fuse box cover.

Paint by Jim East Autobody. Upholstery by Pete at Prestige. Engine rebuild by Jim Ansite. Transmission by Neal Appel. Original date stamped wheels. Steering wheel with center horn ring. Recent March 2021 service and updates to include major engine service, fresh fuel, carburetor rework, new fuel lines, king and link pins, suspension bushings, new KONI shocks, brake adjustment, new rubber seals on doors, windshield, new battery, wheel alignment, and more. Fully serviced, inspected, blessed, and ready for the next 1,000 mile rally or car show.

Of Note: This is a matching numbers and colors example without reproduction parts. It has Porsche Factory Kardex and Certificate of Authenticity, a known ownership, restoration and service documents and photos.
