Beschreibung
Pontiac is widely renowned to have given birth to the muscle car in 1964 with the introduction of the GTO, ushering in a new era of American performance automobiles. The small-car, big-engine formula that is at the heart of the architecture would sweep the industry, with Pontiac at the lead during the 1960s and beyond. One of the most recognizable and iconic versions produced, the 1969 GTO Judge, epitomizes the late 1960s American muscle car era.
The powerful 400 CID Ram-Air III engine – combined with the optional four-speed Muncie gearbox, Hurst shifter, and Safe-T-Track differential – give this example high performance in addition to its good looks. Other desirable options include hidden headlights, bucket seats, console, and rally gauges with tachometer. According to copies of the original build sheet and window sticker, sourced from Pontiac Historic Services, this GTO Coupe was originally sold through Louis Frahm Pontiac in Downey, California, with a $4,343 sticker price. The consignor states that this high-quality example has been recently fully and correctly restored to as-delivered factory specifications and is finished in the correct Carousel Red.
Attention to detail and authenticity is evident throughout, and the car presents beautifully in all respects. This GTO has been driven minimally since the restoration and awaits a new caretaker to partake in shows or touring.
