Cars that cannot be taken off the streets, a dream of every car manufacturer. At some point, the development costs are gone and all you have to do is cough up the production costs. To achieve this, it has to be a very good car. Not every car can be kept in production for 15 years. The Peugeot 504 was a hit at the Paris Salon in 1968. A very well designed and developed car with a solid base; front engine length and rear wheel drive. In addition to the sportier driving experience, also more balance. A successful successor to the 404, which has been in production since 1960. One year after its introduction, the 504 was awarded the (then very prestigious) title Car of the Year.

In order to extend the shelf life of a model, there have to be many successful variants. Also something the Peugeot 504 has succeeded in. Eventually the 504 was offered as Coupe, Cabriolet, Break, Pickup, Dangel (4x4) and as Ambulance (the Loisirs).

Technically, the 504 is largely the same as the Berline, but the wheelbase (15 cm shorter) deviates considerably. It shares the 2.0 litre injection engine with the 504 Coupé. In the end, just over 3 million 504s were delivered in Europe. Why are they hardly on the streets anymore? Export. Because the car is also very popular in African countries because of its simple technology and reliability. It is almost the French version of the Mercedes W123. A bottle of Dreft on wheels; it lasts longer, much longer!

This 504 is from 1971 and is in very good original condition. The car is completely in 'birth' colours and the interior is still original. The car has been in the possession of a proud Peugeot collector for a long time. We have the honour to sell a number of items from his collection; including this Cool Classic!

Ein sehr gut konstruiertes und entwickeltes Auto mit einer soliden Basis; Frontmotorlänge und Hinterradantrieb. Neben dem sportlicheren Fahrerlebnis auch mehr Ausgewogenheit. Ein erfolgreicher Nachfolger des 404, der seit 1960 in Produktion ist. Ein Jahr nach seiner Einführung wurde der 504 mit dem (damals sehr prestigeträchtigen) Titel "Auto des Jahres" ausgezeichnet.

Um die Haltbarkeit eines Modells zu verlängern, muss es viele erfolgreiche Varianten geben. Auch das ist dem Peugeot 504 gelungen. Schliesslich wurde der 504 als Coupe, Cabriolet, Break, Pickup, Dangel (4x4) und als Ambulanz (die Loisirs) angeboten.

Technisch ist der 504 weitgehend identisch mit dem Berline, aber der Radstand (15 cm kürzer) weicht erheblich ab. Er teilt sich den 2,0-Liter-Motor mit Einspritzung mit dem 504 Coupé. Am Ende wurden etwas mehr als 3 Millionen 504er in Europa ausgeliefert. Warum sind sie kaum noch auf der Straße? Exportieren. Denn das Auto ist wegen seiner einfachen Technik und Zuverlässigkeit auch in afrikanischen Ländern sehr beliebt. Es ist fast die französische Version des Mercedes W123. Eine Flasche Dreft auf Rädern; sie hält länger, viel länger!

Diese 504 ist von 1971 und befindet sich in einem sehr guten Originalzustand. Das Auto ist vollständig in "Geburtsfarben" gehalten, und die Innenausstattung ist noch original.
