Beschreibung

We have the pleasure to offer this Italian Championship winning 1979 Osella PA7 chassis 079 for sale on behalf of its long-term Italian owner.Chassis 079 was delivered by Osella to well-known Italian racer Carlo Franchi better known through his alias GIMAX on March 9th 1979 equipped with a BMW 4-Cylinder M12/7 engine. GIMAX immediately took control of the Italian championship winning the 1979 two-Litre Group 6 title. Among his outstanding drives was the 1979 1000km of Monza where he finished 2nd overall behind the 3-litre DFV equipped Lola T286 of Zorzi-Capoferri.The race history of Osella PA7 #079 race is well documented in the Enzo Osella book by Gianni Tomazzoni. The car was eventually sold by "GIMAX" to Franco Bottaretto who did not race the car after which the current owner bought it from Bottareto in 1999. The car then underwent a full rebuild and has been raced successfully on the historic racing scene until a few years ago. Prior to bringing #079 up for sale, it was fully gone through and the M12/7 engine was rebuild by an Italian engine specialist (documents available). The engine only has about 2 hours running. The car is very well documented with factory attestation, it has current 2017 FIA HTP papers and comes with a spare set of wheels. This championship winning Osella PA7 is excellent value while being eligible for CER2 as well as all other late 70ies group 6 races where it should be a competitive entry. ...
