Beschreibung
"This delightful Morris Mini Cooper was first registered on 1st June 1964. The first registered keeper was a Welsh rally driver, Gareth Prycherch who purchased the car to compete in the ‘Motoring News Rally Championship’ and other rallies until he retired in the early 1970s. Thereafter the car remained off road until 1988 whereupon it was sold to a Mr. Hindmarsh who then restored this example over a period of time. During that time, the car was changed from its original colour of Tweed Grey to Tartan Red with a contrasting Old English White roof. This example has a huge specification; mechanically, the engine was upgraded to a 1275cc block (there is a copy of a letter from the MSA approving this block for historic rallying in 1999) and has recently undergone a comprehensive build to period specification with the 1275cc unit bored to 1330cc. A larger and later seven gallon single fuel tank is fitted whilst the suspension has also been fully upgraded, all recorded on file. Further specifications are on file but do include, steel doors and bootlid with a glass fibre bonnet to historic regulations, a laminated windscreen, Lexan side windows and a quick release grille. In keeping with its rally specification, the car has been fitted with a Mk. I gearbox that has been overhauled with straight cut, close-ratio, Clubman gear kit. The high specification continues on the interior that is fully fitted out and conforms to regulations including a full Safety Devices roll cage, rally seats, TRS HANS harnesses, plumbed in and hand held fire extinguishers, 100mph Cooper Odometer, Brantz Tripmeter and Peltor Intercom. A huge accompanying file records the full specification as well as a Heritage Certificate, invoices for all works carried out, a photographic record of works and a UK V5C registration document. This genuine Cooper has been progressively developed, since its initial build to campaign in the British Historic Championship and, along with its MSA Passport, it is ready for its UK MSA Historic Rally Identity Form. We encourage any prospective purchaser to inspect the file in detail to fully appreciate what is on offer here and just how cost effective this opportunity represents."
