Beschreibung
The Morgan Motor Company is a historic British car manufacturer founded by Henry Morgan in 1909.
The most sporty version in the 1950s was the ‘Plus4’ two-seater, featuring a 2000 cc engine with over 100 HP and twin carburettors.
This rare unit is a Plus4 first series from the post-war period, with the original double spare wheel,
the folding windscreen, the classic chrome front round nose (‘round grille’), and the typical details of the early series such as ivory instruments and four-spoke wooden steering wheel.
Produced mainly with right-hand drive, this unit at auction is a rare left-hand drive model that was repatriated from the USA in 1989 by an enthusiast and fully restored in Italy in c. 2010, then used as a car for events and day-trips in Tuscany.
Beautiful in its black colour, 2 seats, with double rear spare wheel, front round grille, original folding windscreen with aeroscreens, new soft top. It has some signs of normal use on the bodywork, as shown in photos.
English vinyl interior in very good condition, Magnolia instruments with ivory knobs and Bluemells wooden steering wheel.
Chrome or painted wire-spoked rims are an option, side window frames are included with the car (as shown in photos).
A complete mechanical check was recently carried out with overhaul of the brake system, overhaul of the hydraulic system, clutch and carburettor gaskets, and a complete check of the electrical system, including a new battery.
ASI registered car in the registration certificate, of historical significance.
A compression test gave very good results (as shown in photos).
Some videos of the car, engine and driving on the road are available; please contact Catawiki.
In March 2022, it passed a technical inspection, which is valid until March 2024. However, it is a direct purchase from the previous owner and normal maintenance may be required in the future at the discretion of the new buyer.
