The MG TD, introduced in 1950, was, to a great extent, the same car as the TA presented in 1936. The front suspension was now independent with coil springs, the steering had been replaced by rack and pinion and smaller 15-inch disc wheels were another novelty. Also, for the first time, the cars were available in a left-hand drive. The car offered, a LHD example, was delivered to the USA in 1952 (like most TDs at the time) and registered there for the first time in 1953. In 1988 it was taken over by an enthusiast in Illinois and imported into Switzerland. According to the then seller, the TD had only covered 22’000 miles and presented itself in unrestored original condition. Later the pretty roadster was repainted and spent a number of years in a collection. In 2020, after the demise of the then owner, the MG was taken over by the vendor and has been driven only sparingly since. With now roughly 25’000 miles, the roadster is in good to very good and very original condition and the latest Veteran MOT was completed in April 2023.
