The T series of MG Midgets started with the 1292 c.c. TA in 1936 and ran on until the last of the TF's in 1956. They set the fashion for sports cars in the 1930's and 1940's and were phenomenally successful in many forms of motor sport throughout the world. Probably no other cars have been held in such affection; there are MG car clubs in almost every country, with thousands of members holding rallies and meetings all through the year.

The TC appeared in October 1945, being almost identical to the short-lived pre-war TB. Export was the order of the day, and many American servicemen based in Europe soon succumbed to the charms of the little cars and took them home with them.
