Clear history
At the London Motor Show in September 1962, MG unveiled the successor to the MGA, logically named the MGB. With more modern lines, the design was sharper and more angular. Featuring windows integrated into the doors, it was no longer a roadster but a true convertible. The MGB was significantly less spartan than the MGA.
The 1974 MG MGB convertible is beginning its life under the Californian sun, it was delivered new in the "Tundra" color, featuring an "Autumn Leaf" interior and a black top, instantly captivating owners. After spending half of its life in California, the car crossed the Atlantic in the 1990s to Belgium, where it found a new owner. Finally, in 1999, it was acquired by the family of its current owner.
This car comes with an official "British Motor Industry Heritage Trust" certificate, confirming its pedigree and original specifications. Twenty-five years ago, this MGB underwent a full restoration, including a complete disassembly and a respray in pale yellow, giving it a new lease on life. Its original engine was replaced in 2010 with a factory replacement engine, now equipped with an unleaded head, having logged 10,000 miles over 14 years. In 2021, the car received a major overhaul, which included front suspension repairs and engine component upgrades. These improvements included the installation of electronic ignition, a carburetor rebuild, and the replacement of hoses, with a total cost of nearly €2,000.
Today, this MG MGB is in good overall condition, embodying the classic and sporty spirit of British roadsters from the 1970s. It’s an excellent opportunity for vintage car enthusiasts or those looking for a charming and easy-to-maintain car to start their collection.
