Beschreibung
The MG A 1600 is a classic sports car produced by British car manufacturer MG (Morris Garages) from 1955 to 1962. It was the first sports car produced by MG after World War II and was available in several body styles, including a roadster (convertible), coupé and four-door saloon. The MKII version of the MG A 1600 was introduced in 1958 and included a number of improvements over the original model, including a more powerful engine and improved suspension.
Out of a total production run of 101,081, our beautiful MG A 1600 KMII is one of only 8,402 produced and highly coveted 1600MKII examples and saw the light of day in 1962, making it instantly one of the last of its kind and also a very worthy predecessor of the well-regarded MG B. With its elegant curves that really accentuate this stylish, English roadster, it has cemented itself in the collector's world as a must-have for true car enthusiasts!
The driving is what you would expect from such a car. The engine starts in no time and it drives superbly thanks to its agility, lively performance and smooth gearbox. You don't go down the motorway with this car is more looking for those country lanes where the car is perfectly in its element. Mechanically, you don't have to worry either as we have had the pleasure of putting it in full mechanical order so it is perfectly fine and reliable. Powered by a 1,622cc B-series inline-four mated to a four-speed manual transmission, the car pulls well at all revs. It is not only a pleasure to drive, but also to look at. The chrome wire wheels with spin-on hubs are the perfect touch for this vintage British sports car and its lines can be matched by few! The beautiful charior red paint colour was completely repainted to its original state according to the rules of the art and looks like new to this day, as does the black leather interior which is in very good condition and when combined with the red paint makes for a beautiful whole and stylish look.
The MG MGA remains a timeless vehicle that continues to live on through the decades. As this was the last available year, these cars remain a sought-after model among collectors; this example is no exception. Are you looking for a budget-friendly English roadster that you will enjoy driving for years to come.
