After the war, the MG brand conquered a whole generation with the T series. The commercial success will be unquestionable but its design, despite its evolutions, will run up against a glass ceiling and will quickly go out of fashion around the middle of the 50s. The company with the octagon reacted and, in 1955, at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, two MG "barquettes", prototypes with special bodywork designated EX 182, were seen racing. A few months later, these cars were seen in customer versions: the MGA was born. The name MGA was given to symbolize that it was the first one with a real new line. The design of this car is fluid, it is a road racing car. Its look is much more modern than the MG T-series and it will soon overshadow them. In 1956, the range was completed by a closed version, the roof line leaving no one indifferent. Sliding windows and deflectors are part of the doors. The coupé is comfortable and very bright with a large rear window.
The car we present to you comes in a beautiful blue livery. The paintwork is not in excellent condition but has only a few minor defects. The black leather upholstery is in good general condition, with a slight patina. The switch has been recently replaced. The engine also runs well and does not overheat. This small car with an English charm can be driven on the road and even take the direction of French or foreign circuits. Its exterior paint will make you look like a real MG driver.
