This is a V8 of the last series of the 380 model, which has the advantage to be a V8 but with an engine displacement of 3800 cc and lower consumption than the 5000/5600 cc V8 engines produced later.

The exterior/interior colours are factory original and there is the hardtop as optional extra to use the car during winter. There is the Datacard (see the pictures).

This Mercedes SL was imported from the USA in 2017 and, since then, the previous owner has done a lot of documented work (see photos and invoices) for a total of over €17,000:

- total repainting in the original blue metallic colour, including hardtop;
- engine block overhaul with grinding of cylinders, shaft, connecting rods etc.;
- overhaul of the automatic transmission;
- side seals of the hood;
- overhaul of the exhaust system;
- total and complete overhaul of K-Jetronic injection system + injectors.

In addition, in the last year, 2019–2020, new rear shock absorbers were fitted, complete overhaul of the braking system with completely new pipes, discs, pads and brake callipers.

Four new white wall tyres have just been fitted.

The structure of the car is very solid (see the photos on the car lift). The body has been inspected with a thickness gauge and no signs of major accidents were found.

The technical inspection was carried out in September 2019 and is valid until September 2021.

The car has documents in order for the transfer of ownership in Italy and can be easily registered in European countries. It is also registered with ASI (Historical Register) as a classic car, with registration certificate, which allows to circulate in cities with traffic restrictions with ASI exception.

Please note: there are some marks (visible at a short distance) on the paint due to a car cover, which was used for a short period. The kilometres are not verifiable.
