Introduced in the spring of 1971, Mercedes-Benz’s iconic R107 series SL coupe/roadster enjoyed a wildly successful production run spanning nearly 20 years. As a 1982 model, this 380 SL features an aluminum alloy 3.8-liter V-8. In addition, the model is nearly 140 pounds lighter than the 4.5-liter 450 SL, and also has a four-speed automatic transmission, rather than the 450 SL’s three-speed unit.
