This 1979 450 SL came back in 2016 to Germany from the Sunshine State California in a very solid condition.
Nevertheless, it received a complete overhauling.
The car was taken apart for new professional paint and all chrome parts got refreshed. The interior was professionally reupholstered with original leather and the electricity had been completely checked. The soft top got also renewed.
The engine got serviced, starts right up and runs perfectly. The steering shows no play, the brakes work fine and the gearbox shifts soft and direct.
Everything works fine as it should with no problems.
This SL even stands the professional “close up look” if you watch the quality of the paint, the gaps and the quality of how everything had been made. The cost exceeds our reserve price by quite a lot.
The SL has hardly been driven and is too good to stand around and gets before the handover a new Tüv.
