This beautiful version of the Mercedes-Benz 230 SL was delivered new in Switzerland on 12 July 1965. Imported in the Netherlands in 1994 where it was thoroughly restored. The Dutch owner had the car until 2006. The 2nd owner in the Netherlands had the car from 2006 to the present day.

Several technical improvements were carried out by the well-known Mercedes specialist van Dijk in Lisserbroek. Invoice for this is available. The engine has an electronic ignition and a complete stainless steel exhaust was recently installed. The car is very good and drives fantastic without any noises or other issues. The 230 SL has a new soft top and a hardtop painted in black lacquer. It has a very chic look together with the nice dark red exterior. The interior is in excellent condition, the seats are like new and the velour carpeting is new.

The last owner fitted a radio/CD player in the boot with a remote control in the glove compartment. The original Becker radio is still in place but it is not connected. The car has an electronic immobiliser. A small and not insignificant detail are the small notches in the front mudguards which match the chrome headlight edges.

The car has a recent valuation report for 95,000 euros. The Dutch technical vehicle inspection is valid until 24 July 2022. Export documents are supplied for export to other countries. If needed, transport can be arranged by mutual agreement.

In summary, this is a beautiful European version of the Mercedes-Benz Pagoda with the 230 SL engine and a manual 4-speed gearbox. This car has matching numbers. A wonderful addition for collectors of classic cars.

Definitely a car that will increase in value.
It is recommended to view the car extensively before placing a bid. This can be done in Valkenswaard, the Netherlands. The car can be viewed on a ramp. Please make an appointment via Catawiki.
