The magnificent example on offer was originally supplied to its first owner in Maryland / USA. Upon the car’s return to European shores a very well respected UK expert for the 190 SL, Redcastle Classics in Wales, embarked on a thorough bare metal restoration. The very sound basis was stripped down to the bare bodyshell and then shot blasted. Obviously on this occasion new panels were used wherever necessary, and as a result the front panel, the near side rear wing as well as the floor pans are new. The body was subsequently rustproofed, primed and painted in the striking Mercedes colour of petrol blue metallic.
