This stunning 300 SDL remains in extraordinarily well-kept, original condition with just over 9,500 miles at the time of cataloguing. Finished in Gray over a tan interior, the SDL was purchased new in Pennsylvania and remained there until 2007, when it had just 5,848 miles. The consignor, a collector of low-mileage Mercedes-Benz, purchased the 300 SDL in 2013 when it had 5,995 miles on the odometer. He notes that it remains extremely original, including its original paint and interior. It has since resided within his Los Angeles-based collection and has been maintained by his in-house mechanic and South Bay Autohaus of Hawthorne, California. The Mercedes-Benz specialist who sold the car to the consignor in 2014, wrote in the ad’s description: “This is the best 126 chassis diesel out there. It is a 1987 300 SDL with only 5,995 miles. The car is as new. No paintwork. Interior takes your breath away. Looks and smells new. The car is spectacular. If you want the best, this is it.”

An oil and filter service was performed by South Bay Autohaus in 2013 along with the conversion of the AC system to R134A. The tires and dash clock were replaced in 2014, the battery was replaced in 2015 and another oil and filter service was performed in 2016, along with a brake fluid flush. In 2020, the consignor’s in-house mechanic changed the oil, flushed the brake fluid, flushed the fuel system, and replaced the car’s power steering fluid and filter. This is a unique opportunity to acquire a low-mileage 300 SDL that has been carefully preserved since it was new and remains in stunning condition inside and out.
