On behalf of an absolute enthusiast, a Mercedes Benz 280S from 1977, an S-class from the W116 series. The "primal" S-class, an insane-looking and driving car which was way ahead of its time in every way. The W116 was launched in 1972. This car rolled off the conveyor belt in 1977. Mercedes Benz gave it the name S-Class at the launch of the model which stands for "Sonderklasse" or Super Class. A name that still lives up to the car to this day.

This particular car was "found" in Germany by the current owner in 2010. Imported in the Netherlands with only 67,786 km, fully documented and substantiated. The car is in almost completely original condition. The Mercedes stood still for quite a long time in the years before 2010. The current owner had many things addressed when he bought the car such as the clutch, brake discs and brake pads all around, replaced brake lines, replaced shock absorbers, springs all around, radiator, track rods and so on. Really nothing has been left to chance to get the car in this incredibly good condition. Maintenance was done every year by the Mercedes specialist.

The car is currently as in the pictures. The current owner fitted extra lamps, a crankcase protector and "cool" dark grey rims. All this is mounted in such a way that NO holes were ever made in the bumper etc. Therefore easy to remove without leaving a trace.

The original silver "bottle cap" rims are available at an additional cost (possibly with a set of snow chains). The original steering wheel will be included anyway.

In addition, the current owner has installed a 3rd brake light, purely for safety because of rear traffic, it can be removed without causing any damage if necessary. There is also a Parrot car kit as well as a contemporary audio system for extra comfort. Unfortunately, the dashboard has a crack, not bothersome to the current owner and nowadays easy to repair.

As mentioned, this is a car from a true enthusiast and no expense was spared to keep it in absolute excellent condition. Used for wonderful holidays and sociable drives, it can now go as I’m making space in the garage for other fun ‘toys’.

The current owner had the car sprayed in its original colour in 2014. All minor damage that simply happens over the course of 40 years has been repaired, the car looks amazing!
